The investigation centres around the death of a 59-year-old man, named John Ithell, from Pentre Gwyn, Wrexham. She also tells of having heard loud screaming' and 'heavy breathing' towards the end of the call. She called out Mr Walley's name but had no response. PC John Pritchard, stated that he was 'made aware' of an incident in the Wrexham area where a video was being circulated on social media depicting a stabbing. The defendant watched the police looking for the body from the top of a nearby slag heap, hiding in bushes, wearing camouflage clothing and using binoculars. As investigations into a murder case in Wrexham continue, a second man, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released on bail today.
A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: “In total, five men have been arrested on suspicion of murder, and have all been released on bail. Overseeing Judge Justice Eyre then called the second witness to the stand - David Davies who was in attendance at court.Mr Ithell was discovered in a lane adjacent to Cefn Road in Wrexham on June 12th. North Wales Police have released a statement, a spokesperson said: "We remain in attendance at a property in Pentre Gwyn, Wrexham following an unexpected death of a 40 year-old-man. The statement describes how the officers searched the rural routes heading into Wrexham town centre before PC Pritchard located Jones on Corkscrew Lane. He was found to have 'bloody' hands and was apprehended. Referring to June 18 of last year, Ms Upton says she was informed that Jones had been spending time with Mr Walley in Rhosymedre. But, just a week later Ms Upton said that Jones told her he wanted nothing to do with Mr Walley.
The third witness in court was Michael Farmer, who appeared via video link. He told the jury that he had known Mr Walley for ‘a couple of years’ and that he also knew Jones through mutual friends. He was taken to hospital, but sadly died later. Mr Meadows also described how Jones had messaged him telling him he ‘had smashed his phone’ before further clips showed Jones and Mr Walley looking out of a window side-by-side, before an argument ensued. She later heard Mr Walley tell Jones to 'put the knife down kiddo' - which was the name he used when referring to the defendant. The next witness brought into court was Ms Attia Jones, who never met Mr Walley in person but had become friends with him through Snapchat some four or five days before his death.
There are a number of possibilities why he killed her but I don’t think it is right that we speculate on that at this time.”
